Sigma II User’s Manual Chapter 5: Parameter Settings and Functions5-725.5.2 Using the Servo ON Input Signal (/S-ON)The basic use and wiring procedure for the Servo ON (/S-ON) input signal(sequence input signal) is described below. Use this signal to forcibly turn OFF theservomotor from the host controller. This signal is used to turn the servomotor ON and OFF.Set the following parameter to 7 if the /S-ON signal will not be used.Input /S-ON CN1-40 Servo ON Speed/Torque Control,Position ControlCN1-40State Status ResultON Closed or low level Turns ON the servomotor: operatesaccording to signal input. This is the default state.OFF Open or high level Servomotor cannot operate.Do not turn OFF the servomotor while it isoperating except in an emergency.• Do not use the Servo ON (/S-ON) signal to start or stop the motor. Always use an input referencesignal, such as Speed Reference to start or stop the servomotor.Doing so will shorten the life of the servo amplifier.Parameter Signal Setting DescriptionPn50A.1 /S-ON Signal Mapping Default Setting: 0 Speed/Torque Control,Position Control+24V CN1-47CN1-40 7mA0VServo amplifierI/O power supplyPhotocouplerHost controller/S-OUT+24V IN 3.3kΩCAUTIONServo amplifier0VCN-40(/S-ON)The external short-circuit wiring shownin the figure can be omitted if the Servo ON(/S-ON) input is not used.
