Configuring IP Routing 14-7IP Interface ParametersTable 14-2 through Table 14-4 list all possible IP Interface parameters. (Some will notbe displayed, depending on how others are configured.) Because several parametersapply to more then one interface type, descriptions of all IP Interface parametersfollow Table 14-4.1 Valid port numbers depend on the model of SmartSwitch 1800—see port locations onpage 6-1. Make sure the frame relay port is not configured (in the Port record) for backupuse only. (See page 7-18.)2 Make sure the DLCI is not part of a frame relay DLCI backup group or intra-nodalframe relay PVC (both described in Chapter 7).3 Y for new interfaces, N for interfaces already configured when the current release ofSmartSwitch 1800 software is installed.4 255.255.255.255 is valid only on a point-to-point interface.5 The default value of Network Mask will be configured automatically, to reflect theappropriate address class, after the Source IP Address is specified. If the interface isconfigured as unnumbered (and, therefore, no Source IP Address is configured), thedefault value of Network Mask will be taken from the numbered interface that isassigned. If a Source IP Address is specified/changed, the NetworkMask will automatically change to a default value appro-priate for the new address. For this reason, configure theSource IP Address first, then the Network Mask.Table 14-2 Frame Relay IP Interface ParametersParameter Valid Values Default ValueMaximum Tr ansmission Unit 1–4096 1500Routing Metric Count 0–255 0ICMP Redirects Y/N YRIP Support 0 (Enabled), 1 (Rcv only),2 (Disabled) 0 (Enabled)RIP Flash Updates (sec) 5–300 10RIP Full Updates (sec) 10–300 30Priority 0–9 5Bandwidth Allocation Group 1–16 1Interface Type FRL (frame relay) FRLSource Card 0 0Source Port 0–7 1 0Source DLCI 16–991 2 16Enable Inverse ARP Y/N see note 3Destination IP Address 1.0.0.0–223.255.255.255 noneUnnumbered Interface Y/N see note 3Source IP Address 1.0.0.0–223.255.255.255 noneNetwor k Mask 255.0.0.0–255.255.255.255 4 255.0.0.0 5
