Tire Inspection and RotationTires should be rotated every 5,000 to 8,000 miles(8 000 to 13 000 km).Any time you notice unusual wear, rotate your tires assoon as possible and check wheel alignment. The first rotationis the most important. SeeScheduled Maintenanceon page 6-4, for scheduled rotation intervals.When rotating your tires, always use the correct rotationpattern shown here.Don’t include the spare tire in your tire rotation.After the tires have been rotated, adjust the front andrear inflation pressures as shown on the Tire andLoading Information label.Make certain that all wheel nuts are properly tightened.See “Wheel Nut Torque” underCapacities andSpecifications on page 5-106.{CAUTION:Rust or dirt on a wheel, or on the parts towhich it is fastened, can make wheel nutsbecome loose after a time. The wheel couldcome off and cause an accident. When youchange a wheel, remove any rust or dirt fromplaces where the wheel attaches to the vehicle.In an emergency, you can use a cloth or apaper towel to do this; but be sure to use ascraper or wire brush later, if you need to,to get all the rust or dirt off.
