Air Bag SystemsThis part explains the frontal and side impact air bagsystems.Your vehicle has six air bags:• A frontal air bag for the driver and another frontalair bag for the right front passenger,• a seat mounted side impact air bag for the driverand another for the right front passenger,• a roof-mounted side impact air bag for the driverand passenger directly behind the driver, and• a roof-mounted side impact air bag for the rightfront passenger and the person seated directlybehind that passenger.Frontal air bags are designed to help reduce the risk ofinjury from the force of an inflating air bag. But theseair bags must inflate very quickly to do their joband comply with federal regulations.Here are the most important things to know about theair bag systems:{CAUTION:You can be severely injured or killed in a crashif you aren’t wearing your safety belt – even ifyou have air bags. Wearing your safety beltduring a crash helps reduce your chance ofhitting things inside the vehicle or beingejected from it. Air bags are “supplementalrestraints” to the safety belts.
