Outlet AdjustmentUse the lever located in the center of each outlet tochange the direction of the airflow, either side-to-side orup and down. Use the thumbwheels to open or closethe outlets to adjust the airflow.Turn the thumbwheel to the right to open the outletscompletely and allow the maximum amount of airto enter your vehicle. Turn the thumbwheel to the left toclose the outlets and minimize the amount of airentering the vehicle.Operation Tips• Clear away any ice, snow or leaves from the airinlets at the base of the windshield that mayblock the flow of air into your vehicle.• Use of non-GM approved hood deflectors mayadversely affect the performance of the system.• Keep the path under the front seats clear of objectsto help circulate the air inside of your vehicle moreeffectively.• If the airflow seems low when the fan speed is atthe highest setting, the passenger compartmentair filter may need to be replaced. For moreinformation, see Passenger Compartment Air Filteron page 3-55.Rear Climate Control SystemYour vehicle has a rear climate control system. Thebase model includes air outlets in the rear of the centerconsole for cooling and under-seat air outlets forheating. The temperature, quantity, and air deliverylocation is controlled automatically by the front climatecontrol system.Some vehicles are equipped with an optional climatecontrol panel for the rear passenger, located on the backof the center console.The left knob controls the temperature of the air to therear passengers. Turning the knob to the left willmake the air cooler. Turning the knob to the right willmake the air warmer.The right knob controls the air delivery to the rearpassengers. Turning the knob all the way to the left willshut off airflow to the rear passengers. Operatingwith the rear air delivery off may make the entire vehiclewarm or cool less quickly. It may also increase the airrush sound of the front system.3-54
