This providesa way to manage services and enhances security.The source IP address specified for Telnet service packets is the IP address of anLoopback interface or VLAN interface. After you specify the IP address of a virtualLoopback interface or an unused VLAN interface as the source IP address of Telnetservice packets, the IP address is used as the source IP address no matter whichinterface of the switch is used to transmit packets between the Telnet client and theTelnet server. This conceals the IP address of the actual interface used. As a result,external attacks are guarded and the security is improved. On the other hand, you canconfigure the Telnet server to accept only Telnet service packets with specific source IPaddresses to make sure specific users can log in to the switch.7.2 Configuring Source IP Address for Telnet ServicePacketsThis feature can be configured in either user view or system view.
