AV1Mode Adjust5-19MUSIC• Designed for playback of 5.1-channel Dolby Digital musicsources.• The 5.1 THX MUSIC listening mode cannot be activatedunless side and rear speakers are present.• ASA processing is applied to signals sent to the rear speakers.See “ASA” on page 3-32 for more information.• Recommended for home theaters with THX-certified speakersetups.See “Listening Mode Menu Option & Parameter Descriptions” on page 5-29 for detaileddescriptions.Note:The 5.1 THX MUSIC listening mode can only be activated withthe front-panel or remote control Mode and buttons.DIGITAL & DIGITAL EX• Designed for playback of 5.1-channel Dolby Digital sources.The DOLBY DIGITAL listening mode is recommended forDolby Digital sources recorded with Dolby Digital SurroundEX. This listening mode can also be used with 5.1-channelDolby Digital sources with mixed results.• Listening mode name differs depending on the encodingpresent in the input source, the EX DECODING parametersetting and the speaker setup. The table on the next pageindicates the conditions in which Dolby Digital Surround EXdecoding is engaged.• Decodes 5.1 discrete channels from 5.1-channel Dolby Digitalsources. The five main channels are full-frequency.
