Page 5-12 V10/V7.5/V5/V3.5 Installation and Operation ManualIssue 3.5 Section 5 System Level Troubleshooting5.5.2.2 IPA Forward LowAn IPA Q3 Fwd Low (V10/V7.5), IPA Q4Fwd Low (V10/V7.5) or IPA Fwd Low(V5/V3.5) alarm occurs when the IPA(specifically A3 or A4 in the V10/V7.5)peak forward power falls below the lowIPA forward power threshold (IPA ForwardLow threshold is user definable, but isdefaulted to 135 W for FM mode). Refer tothe Status and Events Log screens foradditional alarms. Refer to those alarm’sparagraphs to troubleshoot.NOTEAlarm is disabled in FM+HD or HD mode.• If no other alarms are indicated, theproblem may be the detection circuitryon the control/display PWB (A43).Possible Associated Faults:- IPA Q3 or Q4 Fwd Low (V10/V7.5)- IPA Fwd Low (V5/V3.5)- IPA Fail A or B- Q3 or Q4 Latch Off (V10/V7.5)- IPA PS Fail A or B5.5.2.3 IPA MatchAn IPA Q3 Match (V10/V7.5), IPA Q4Match (V10/V7.5) or IPA Match (V5/V3.5)alarm occurs when the IPA (specificallyA3 or A4 in the V10/V7.5) peak forwardpower falls below the reference IPA voltsthreshold (IPA Forward vs Volts thresholdis user definable, but is defaulted to 50%for FM mode). This alarm will result in thetransmitter response described in 5.5.2. Toreset, press the Reset soft key in theStatus screen. Troubleshoot as follows:NOTEAlarm is disabled in FM+HD or HD mode.(a) Refer to the Status and Events Logscreens for additional alarms, as anaid in troubleshooting. Refer to theparagraphs on those alarms fortroubleshooting information. If noother alarms are indicated, theproblem may be the detection circuitryon the control/display PWB (A43).NOTEIf one of the RF power module input drivecables has open or short circuited, theassociated switching power supply will beinhibited due to low RF drive input level. The associated Module Fail (A-H for V10;A-C, E-G for V7.5; A-D for V5, A-C forV3.5) and associated switching powersupply module PS Fail (A-H for V10; A-C,E-G for V7.5; A-D for V5, A-C for V3.5)alarms will be on.• Check for loose connectors andintermittent cables between the IPAmodule output [V10/V7.5: A19 (A), orA20 (B), if applicable] or IPA PA output[V5/V3.5: A19A4 (A), or A19A3 (B), ifapplicable] and IPA splitter assembly(A21 or A22, as applicable) input. ForV10/V7.5, the inputs are W7 (A3) andW8 (A4) for IPA module A, or W9 (A3)and W10 (A4) for IPA module B, ifapplicable. For V5/V3.5, the inputs areW8 (A4) for IPA PA A, or W10 (A3) forIPA PA B, if applicable].• Check cables between the IPA splitterassembly (A21 or A22, as applicable)outputs and the applicable RF powermodule’s interconnect PWB (A23 - A30for V10, A23 - A25 and A27 - A29 forV7.5, A23 - A26 for V5, A23 - A25 forV3.5). These cables/connectionsinclude V10: W11 (A) - W18 (H); V7.5:W11 (A) - W13 (C) and W15 (E) - W17(G); V5: W11 (A) - W14 (D); and V3.5:W11 (A) - W13 (C).• For V7.5/V3.5, check cables betweenthe IPA splitter assembly (A21 or A22,as applicable) and the RF terminationassemblies (A47 and A48, asapplicable). These cables include W14and W18, as applicable.• Ensure all RF power modules areonline and installed properly.
