Install thetransmitter as follows:NOTEMetric, stainless steel attaching hardwareis used in this transmitter. Unlessotherwise specified, metric wrenches/sockets must be used except where animperial measure is specifically identified.When required, replacement hardwareshould be identical to the replaced items.2.3.1 Accepting the ShipmentInspect all shipments for transit damageprior to acceptance.2.3.2 Unpacking InstructionsInstructions for unpacking are dictated bythe method of packaging for shipment.Transmitters not shipped by electronicequipment moving specialists may bepacked in wooden crates. Instructionsaccompany any crate that requires specialunpacking information. Remove all itemsfrom packing and place on a suitable workarea. Verify shipped contents with packinglists, which provide detailed listings ofshipment contents.(a) Remove the packing bracket fromeach column (two for V10/V7.5, onefor V5/V3.5; see Figure 2-6) of RFpower modules. Carefully push eachmodule back into its support tray toensure its connector is properly mated.NOTEIn areas prone to seismic activity, it ispermissible to leave the bracket(s) in.Ensure the RF power modules areproperly seated. If necessary, loosen thehex head screws to adjust the position ofthe securing bracket.2.3.3 Visual InspectionPerform a visual inspection on thecabinet, its modules/assemblies, andprinted wiring boards. The inspectionshould cover the following:(a) Verify the LCD screen on the frontpanel is not damaged.(b) Remove any packing materials (tape,tyraps, bubble-wrap) used to securewiring/cabling for shipment.(c) Check for obvious damage andmissing parts.(d) Check electrical wiring/cabling forbroken or frayed insulation, loose orimproper connections, and broken,shorted or pinched conductors.(e) Verify all hardware is firmly tightened.(f) Remove any unwanted foreign objectsfrom the interior of the cabinet/assemblies, paying particular attentionfor floating conductive materials suchas wire strands, metal slivers/filing,and loose hardware.2.3.4 Determining Control/Monitoring RequirementsThere are several remote control andmonitoring options which you must pre-determine before installing external wiringto/from these circuits. The pre-installationinformation in paragraph 2.2 identifies allof the remote controls and alarm/statusoutputs available. It is assumed that youhave reviewed this information and havedetermined which will be used. It is alsoassumed the options available for thecontrol inputs and the monitoring outputshave been reviewed and you havedetermined which options are required tointerface with the external equipment.2.3.5 Installing External Control/Monitor WiringConnect the wiring from the remotecontrol/monitoring devices to the remoteinterface PWB (A44) as follows:
