ISDNOverviewIntegrated Services Digital Network(ISDN) is composed of data service andtelephone service provided by telephone carrier. Since ISDN includesdigitalization of telephone, it can transmit voice, data, text, graphic, music,video and data transmissible by various telephone line. The appearance ofISDN enables standardizing subscriber service standard, user networkinterface, the capacity of network and inter-network. ISDN application canprovide services such as image, telephone, transmission of high-capacity fileand videoconference at high speed.This section briefly introduces ISDN service.ServicesBRI ServiceBRI(Basic Rate Interface) service possesses two B channels and one Dchannel, which is composed of Two B channels and One D channel(2B+D).BRI B-channel service is operated with 64 Kbps and this means User data.BRI D-channel service is operated with 16 Kbps, transmitting signalinformation and management information. According to OSI reference model,D CH ranges from Layer1 to Layer3. BRI is made up of 192 Kbps.The BRI physical layer specification is International TelecommunicationUnion-Telecommunications Standards Section(ITU-T)(formerly theConsultative Committee for International Telegraph and Telephone [CCITT])I.430.
