Service Manual September 2015Jib Boom Components112 ZX-135/70 Part No. 218700Note: Use the following chart to identify thedescription of each LCD screen control button usedin this procedure.Plus Minus Previous EnterDigital levels with alternate zero function:Note: Prepare the digital level by placing itvertically on a known surface that is perpendicularto gravity. Zero out the level with the alternate zerofunction.Note: When the level is calibrated correctly, itshould read 0° on a vertical surface.Digital levels without alternate zero function:Note: If your digital level does not have an alternatezero function, it will read 90° on a vertical surface.During calibration, the measured value will need tobe subtracted from 90 degrees to get the correctnumber to enter into the system.6 Point Calibration procedureNote: Use this procedure for software versionsbefore 4.01.Note: For the 2 Point Calibration procedure,proceed to step 33.1 Fully extend the axles with the booms in thestowed positions.2 Raise the jib boom to a slightly less thanhorizontal position.3 Push in the ground controls red EmergencyStop button to the off position. Do not turn thekey switch to the off position.4 Open the ground control box.5 Locate the calibration toggle switch at the topof the ground control box. Activate calibrationmode by moving the toggle switch in the leftdirection.6 Temporarily install a control box door retainingfastener between the door and the box toprevent the control box door from moving thetoggle switch while calibrating the machine.7 Remove the key from the main key switch.Insert the key into the bypass/recovery keyswitch and turn it to the bypass position.Note: The angle sensor calibration values will notbe saved correctly unless the key switch is in thebypass position and the calibration toggle switch isactivated.8 Press and hold the enter button on the groundcontrol panel while pulling out the groundcontrols red Emergency Stop button to the onposition. Hold the enter button forapproximately 5 seconds and then release it.9 Enter sensor calibration mode by pressing thebuttons at the ground controls in the followingsequence: (plus)(enter)(enter)(plus).10 Press the enter or previous button on theLCD screen until DELETE JIB LEVEL ANGLESENSOR CALIBRATION is displayed.11 Press the plus button to select YES, thenpress the enter button to accept.12 At the jib level calibration deg 60.0deg screen,start the engine.Note: If the system exits out of calibration modewhen the engine is started, repeat step 8 andcontinue to step 12.
