Service Manual September 2015Checklist C Procedures64 ZX-135/70 Part No. 218700Skip to step 5 if the low idle rpm is correct.1 low idle adjustment screw2 yoke3 high idle adjustment nut3 Loosen the lock nut on the low idle adjustmentscrew.4 Adjust the low idle adjustment screw until lowidle is 1500 rpm. Tighten the locknut.5 Press and hold the function enable/high speedbutton. Note the engine rpm on the display.Result: High idle should be 2350 rpm.If the high idle is correct, disregard adjustmentstep 6.6 Loosen the yoke lock nut. Turn the high idleadjustment nut and solenoid bootcounterclockwise to increase the rpm orclockwise to decrease the rpm. Tighten theyoke lock nut and recheck the rpm.Note: Be sure the solenoid fully retracts whenactivating high idle.7 Check for excessive movement in the linkagebar pins.Result: If there is excessive wear in thelinkage, the linkage bar should be replaced.Perkins models:1 Remove the engine pivot plate retainingfastener. Swing the engine pivot plate outaway from the machine.1 engine pivot plate anchor hole2 engine pivot plate retaining fastener2 Locate the engine pivot plate anchor hole atthe pivot end of the engine pivot plate.3 Install the bolt that was just removed into theanchor hole to secure the engine pivot platefrom moving.Crushing hazard. Failure toinstall the bolt into the enginepivot plate to secure it frommoving could result in death orserious injury.4 Start the engine from the ground controls.Component damage hazard. Besure the hydraulic supply hosesto the function and drive pumpsare not kinked before starting theengine.
