September 2015 Service ManualFault CodesPart No. 218700 ZX-135/70 203Section 5 Faul t CodesObserve and Obey: Troubleshooting and repair procedures shallbe completed by a person trained and qualifiedon the repair of this machine Immediately tag and remove from service adamaged or malfunctioning machine. Repair any machine damage or malfunctionbefore operating the machine. Unless otherwise specified, perform eachprocedure with the machine in the followingconfiguration:• Machine parked on a firm, level surface• Key switch in the off position with the keyremoved• The red Emergency Stop button in the offposition at both ground and platform controls• Wheels chocked• All external AC power supply disconnectedfrom the machine• Boom in the stowed position• Turntable secured with the turntable rotationlock• Welder disconnected from the machine (ifequipped with the weld cable to platformoption)Before Troubleshooting: Read, understand and obey the safety rulesand operating instructions in the appropriateoperator's manual on your machine. Be sure that all necessary tools and testequipment are available and ready for use. Read each appropriate fault code thoroughly.Attempting short cuts may produce hazardousconditions. Be aware of the following hazards and followgenerally accepted safe workshop practices.Electrocution/burn hazard.Contact with electrically chargedcircuits could result in death orserious injury. Remove all rings,watches and other jewelry.Note: Two persons will be required to safelyperform some troubleshooting procedures.
