This field allows you to setthe application that the COM port will support, which includes:• Local Management (LM) via a terminal or modem connection• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)The UPS setting allows you to use the COM port to monitor an AmericanPower Conversion Smart Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). For UPS,the baud rate is automatically set to 2400.The baud rate setting for LM is automatically sensed.For details about how to configure the COM port for various applications,refer to Section 5.15.11.Clear NVRAM (Toggle)This allows the user to reset NVRAM to the factory default settings. Alluser-entered parameters, such as IP address and Community Names arethen replaced with 6H12X-08 default configuration settings. For details,refer to Section 5.15.12.IP Fragmentation (Toggle)This field allows the user to enable or disable IP fragmentation. Thedefault setting for this field is ENABLED. If traffic from the 6H12X-08will be bridged to an FDDI ring, IP Fragmentation should be enabled. IfIP Fragmentation is disabled, all FDDI frames that exceed the maximumEthernet frame size will be discarded. For details on enabling or disablingIP Fragmentation refer to Section 5.15.13.5.15.1 Setting the IP AddressTo set the IP address, perform the following steps:1. Use the arrow keys to highlight the IP Address field.NOTEIf the 6C105 chassis has been assigned an IP address, it is notnecessary to assign an IP address to the 6H12X-08. Allinstalled modules have the same IP address as the chassis. Ifa separate IP address for the module is desired, for security ordistributed management capabilities, proceed to step 1.
