To maintain the best possible print quality, these nozzles need to be cleanedfrom time to time. Your copier/fax is equipped with a print head cleaning function thatdoes this.Printing the Nozzle Check PatternBefore cleaning the print head, you may want to print the nozzle check pattern to testthe print head of the BJ cartridge installed in the copier/fax. This test shows if eachprint head nozzle is operating properly.Refer to the flow chart (1 p. 12-8) for the correct order of testing and cleaning theBJ cartridge print head.Follow this procedure to print the nozzle check pattern:1 Press .2 Press .3 Press .• The copier/fax prints the nozzle check pattern.When the Color BJ cartridge is installed, the pattern includes all four colors; yellow,magenta, cyan, and black. In the color pattern you will notice that lines are missingbetween the colors.
