12-10 Maintenance Chapter 12Cleaning the BJ Cartridge Print HeadIf your printouts become faint or streaked, or if their quality otherwise deteriorates, printthe nozzle check pattern to see if the print head nozzles are operating properly(1 p. 12-9). If the pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean theBJ cartridge print head.Refer to the flow chart (1 p. 12-8) for the correct order of testing and cleaning the BJcartridge print head.n• To maintain the best possible print quality, clean the BJ cartridge print head from time totime.• Cleaning the print head consumes a small amount of ink.
