Removing Shipping MaterialsThe copier/fax has been packed with protective material to protect it during shipping.Remove this material as follows and keep it in case you need to transport the unit inthe future:nThe actual shipping materials may differ in shape, quantity, and position from the onesshown above.2-4 Setting Up Chapter 22 Remove theprotective piecefrom the multi-purpose tray.1 Remove theshipping tapesfrom the multi-purpose tray.5 Open the ADF (Automatic DocumentFeeder), then remove the shipping tapefrom the side of the unit.Close the ADF (Automatic DocumentFeeder).4 Open the operation panelpartially by gently pulling ittoward you (it only opensslightly). Then remove theprotective sheet from the ADF(Automatic Document Feeder).Close the operation panel bypressing it down from thecenter until it locks into place.3 Remove the shipping tapes andprotective sheet from the operation panel.
