Chapter 2 Setting Up 2-13Setting UpInstalling the BJ Cartridge in the Copier/FaxWhen there is no BJ cartridge installed in the copier/fax, the LCD displays PUT INCARTRIDGE.Follow this procedure to install the BJ cartridge:1 Make sure the unit is plugged in.2 Lift the document guides to open theADF (Automatic Document Feeder).• If it does not open easily, slide thedocument guides outward and then openthe ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).Alternatively, set the document feed lever toa automatic document feed.n When you plug in the unit forthe first time, the cartridge holderautomatically moves to the center ofthe unit so you can install the BJcartridge.
