Values equal to orgreater than 0 are valid. Only successive failed reboot attempts count, not rebootsthat occur after a restart attempt. At restart, the counter is set to 0.– Use OS-Defined restart policy lets the service processor react in the same wayas the operating system to major system faults by reading the setting of theoperating system parameter Automatically Restart/Reboot After a SystemCrash. This parameter may or may not be defined, depending on the operatingsystem or its version and level. If the operating system automatic restart setting isdefined, then it can be set to respond to a major fault by restarting or by notrestarting. See your operating system documentation for details on setting upoperating system automatic restarts. The default value is yes.– Enable supplemental restart policy - The default setting is no. If set to yes, theservice processor restarts the system when the system loses control as detectedby the service processor surveillance, and either:- The Use OS-Defined restart policy is set to noOR- The Use OS-Defined restart policy is set to yes, and the operating systemhas NO automatic restart policy.Refer to “Service Processor Reboot/Restart Recovery” on page 202.– Call-out before restart If a restart is necessary due to a system fault, you canenable the service processor to call out and report the event.
