Chapter 4. CheckpointsCheckpoints let users and service personnel know what the server is doing, with somedetail, while it initializes. These checkpoints are not intended to be error indicators, butin some cases, a server could hang at one of the checkpoints without displaying an8-character error code. It is for these hang conditions, only, that any action should betaken regarding checkpoints. The most appropriate action is included with eachcheckpoint.Before taking actions listed with a checkpoint, it is a good idea to look for moreappropriate symptoms in the service processor error log. To access the System Information Menu, refer to “Privileged UserMenus” on page 182.Unresolved Checkpoint ProblemsGo to “MAP 1540: Minimum Configuration” on page 59 for any of the followingproblems:v A 4-digit code in the range of E000 through EFFF is displayed on the operator paneldisplay but is not listed in “Service Processor Checkpoints” on page 82 or “FirmwareCheckpoints” on page 88.v A 4-digit code is displayed and is listed in “Service Processor Checkpoints” onpage 82 or “Firmware Checkpoints” on page 88, but there are no repair actions orFRUs listed for the code.v All of the FRUs listed in the repair actions have been replaced, and the problem hasnot been resolved.81
