A toner cartridge will print about 2,000 letter-size pages at a typical print coverage of 4% (equivalent ofCCITT No. 1 test chart).! The first toner cartridge in your new fax machine hasto fill the drum reservoir and saturate the developingroller with toner. For this reason, it will need to bereplaced sooner than subsequent cartridges—afterabout 1,000 pages. If your fax machine displays TONER LOW or REPLACETONER CART., replace the toner cartridge with a new onesoon. If print density is high enough, you can continue to usethe toner cartridge without replacing it until print qualitybecomes unacceptable. Keep in mind that if you don’t replacethe cartridge soon, there is a risk that a fax will be unreadablewhen it prints using an empty cartridge.
