Two different fax machines areinvolved in transmitting a relay fax: the relay initiating stationand the relay key station (hub). What is an example of Relay Faxing? Imagine that you needto send a fax to a number of locations in another area code. With Relay Faxing, you (the relay initiating station) send onefax (transmission) long distance to one fax (the relay keystation). The relay key station then sends the fax to all of theother faxes/locations in the area code, at local rates.! Relay Faxing is different from group faxing. In GroupFaxing, a fax is sent to a preprogrammed group oflocations directly from the fax machine. At this writing, the OKIFAX 2600 is the only Oki faxmachine that can function as a relay key station.Relay Initiating StationYour fax machine can act as the relay initiating station, whichstarts the relay broadcast by sending the original documents. Before you can program your fax machine to initiate a relaybroadcast, you will need to obtain the following informationfrom the operator of the unit you intend to use as a relay keystation:Relay PasswordThis is the 4-digit relay key word that is programmed intothe relay key station.Relay Group NumbersThese 2-digit numbers are the numbers of groups oflocations programmed into the relay key station.
