18.5 Chart selectionYou can select the cartography type to be used inthe Chart application. The Chart selection appliesto the active Chart instance. You must have thenecessary cartography chart cards inserted into yourmultifunction display in order to display differentcartography type.Selecting a cartography typeYou can select the cartography type you want todisplay in the Chart application.Ensure you have inserted the chart card thatcontains the cartography type you want to display.From the Chart application menu:1. Select Presentation.2. Select Chart Selection.A list of available cartography is displayed.3. Select the cartography type you want to displayThe Chart window is re-drawn to show the selectcartography type.18.6 Vessel position on the chartdisplayYour current position is represented on-screen bythe vessel symbol.The vessel symbols are only displayed whenheading or COG data is available.The vessel symbol varies depending on selectedsettings and the availability of heading data.MotorVesselThe motor vessel symbolis used when the vesseltype selected during theinitial set up wizard is amotor vessel.Sail Vessel The sail vessel symbolis used when the vesseltype selected during theinitial set up wizard is asail vessel.SmallVesselThesmallvesselsymbolisused when the Boat Sizesetting is set to Small.Black dot A black dot is displayedwhen heading and COGdata is not available.Vessel position data can also be shown in thedatabar.Locating your vesselThe vessel icon can be repositioned to the center ofthe screen by following the steps below.1.
