8 - Library functions—Snapshot memories8–32 The SHUTTLE wheel is used to change thefunction of the center lower portion of thescreen. In the screen shown above, this por-tion of the screen is used to manage the list oflibrary entries.3 The JOG dial is used to scroll through the listof entries. note that as the entries in the listare highlighted, a graphical representation ofthe faders is shown above the list.The fader map to the left of the screen repre-sents the current fader position, allowingcomparison of a library entry with the cur-rent fader positions.4 When the name of an entry which is to beused as the basis for a new library entryname is highlighted, the cursor keys are usedto move the cursor to the on-screen ∑ NAMEbutton.5 Press the ENTER key to transfer the name ofthe currently-selected list entry to the nameediting area on the right of the screen.NOTEThis procedure does not transfer the snap-shot itself; only the name of the snapshotlibrary entry. To recall the snapshot of the cur-rently-selected list entry, use the on-screenRECALLbutton, or the hardware RECALLkey.6 Turn the SHUTTLE wheel counterclockwiseto change the function of the center lowerportion of the screen to name editing:7 Use the JOG dial to move the cursor insidethe name of the snapshot entry to be edited.8 Use the cursor keys to move the cursorthrough the list of available characters, andthe ENTER key to insert the highlightedcharacter at the cursor position in the name.There are two special buttons below the listof characters: the INSERT button insertsa character at the cursor position, and theDELETE button deletes the character atthe cursor position.The number keypad can also be used fordirect entry of numeric characters in thename.9 When the name has been edited, turn theSHUTTLE wheel clockwise so that the centerportion of the screen controls the list scroll-ing functions.10 Use the JOG dial to select the library entryinto which the edited name will be stored.11 Move the cursor to the on-screen NAME∏button, and press ENTER. The edited namewill now overwrite the current name (if any)of the highlighted library entry.NOTEThis does not overwrite the snapshot data inthe library entry, only the name of the libraryentry. Use the on-screen STOREbutton orthe hardware STOREkey to store snapshotdata.8.1.6 MIDI dumping and loading ofsnapshot library entriesSnapshot data (except for snapshot 00) can be trans-mitted to MIDI devices such as sequencers, data fil-ers, etc. allowing mixer settings to be storedalongside MIDI sequences, or simply as a convenientoffline storage method.
