Sc a nDocument GlassThe document glass accepts single-sheet or book formdocuments of sizes up to 297 × 432mm (A3, 11 × 17 inches).The document glass can auto-detect only documents of standardsizes. For documents that of not of a standard size, input the sizein the Scan Size field.For information about entering document sizes, refer to “ScanSize (Specifying a Scanning Size),” page 3-41.NOTE: The standard document sizes that can be auto-detecteddepend on the Paper Size Settings in the System Administrationmode. For more information, refer to “Paper Size Settings” in theSystem Administration Guide.CAUTION: When copying a thick document, do not useexcessive force to press it against the document glass. The glassmay break and cause an injury.WARNING: When making copies with the document cover open,avoid looking directly at the copy lamp. Direct eye exposure cancause eye fatigue or damage.1. Open the document cover.2. Place the document face down, and align it against the insideleft corner of the document glass.3. Close the document cover.
