System Guide 7- 3Troubleshooting• Client Problems: Client problems include job submissionproblems with no message displayed at the client workstation.• Graphical User Interface (GUI) problems: GUI icons orwindows do not appear correctly, do not operate correctly, ordisappear suddenly.• Print quality: The output from the printer contains imagedefects such as deletions, problems with lines, missingimages, smudges, shading, or text problems.• Font problems: The output from the printer contains fontdefects, such as incorrect character spacing, jaggedcharacters, text running off the page, or sentences running intoeach other.• Inoperable system: The inoperable system has experiencedan unrecoverable software error due to a job or operatoraction.• Job flow: Jobs sent from the client are not received at a printerqueue.• Job integrity: The output from the printer is not as expected; itmay have missing pages, missing data, incorrect pageorientation, incorrectly ordered sets, or job attributeinconsistencies.• PDL problem: To isolate these problems the systemadministrator may ask the job submitters when they areexperiencing problems with printing.• Process problems: A process was followed incorrectly orunintentionally.• Productivity and performance: The job takes an excessiveamount of time to complete.• Save problems: A job is submitted from a client with a Savedestination, but the job is not saved.SNMP problemsIf there is no response from the agent to the browser, one or all ofthe following steps can be taken:1.
