For incorrect characters or text that runs off the page,determine if the document was created with one driver andprinted with another driver.5. If you are comparing prints from a proof printer, ensure that thesame PDL file was used to make the prints on both printers.6. If small fonts are printing ragged, change the default fontrenderer in Print Manager from the “Adobe Type Manager” tothe “Font Solution”.Inoperable system problemsDetermine which partition is full by opening a terminal window andperform the following:1. Telnet using another system into the controller and use the sucommand to become the root user.2. At the # prompt, type:sync; sync; halt and press .3. At the ok prompt, type bootNOTE: Pressing and may result in lost information if ajob is currently being received by the system. Jobs would need tobe resent.Job flow problemsIf a job is submitted to a printer but does not print, this is a job flowproblem.Determine the status of the printer, printer queue and ensure thatthe queue is set to release jobs.Determine which partition is full by opening a terminal window andentering the following:• df -k• If the /var/spool/XRXnps/outQ partition is full, go to the XeroxFreeFlow Print Server user interface. Open [Preferences] andthen [Job Policy]. Set the system to small partitions or largepartitions to avoid saturating the outQ.• If the /opt partition is full, delete unnecessary files andcompress and move any core files that are in the /opt/XRXnps/corefiles directory.• If the /var/spool partition is full, determine the size of the /var/spool/XRXnps/inQ directory. If a job is larger than half the sizeof the directory, delete the job and restart the Xerox software.If the job is small, store it on a server and resubmit the job fromthe client.Delete any faulted, ineligible, or held jobs that are no longerneeded. Also, delete any completed jobs in the /opt/XRXnps/
