The in-ternal antenna tuner affects only the antenna(s) con-nected here, and only during transmission.Warning!The 100V RF voltage (@100 W/50 ) is applied tothe TX RF section of the transceiver while trans-mitting. Do not touch the TX RF section whiletransmitting.DC IN JackThis is the DC power supply connection for thetransceiver. Use the supplied DC cable to connect di-rectly to a DC power supply, which must be capableof supplying at least 23 A @13.8 VDC.GNDUse this terminal to connect the transceiver to a goodearth ground, for safety and optimum performance.Use a large diameter, short braided cable for makingground connections, and please refer to page 9 forother notes about proper grounding.To prevent the damage from lightning, at-mospheric electricity, electrical shock, etc.,please provide a good earth ground.μ-TUNE JacksThese jacks are used to connect the optional RFμTuning Kit, signal in and signal out.+13.8 V JackThis RCA output jack provides regulated, separatelyfused 13.8 VDC at up to 200 mA, to power an ex-ternal device such as a packet TNC. Make sure yourdevice does not require more current (if it does, usea separate power source).PTT JackThis RCA input jack may be used to provide manualtransmitter activation using a footswitch or otherswitching device. Its function is identical to the[MOX] button on the front panel. The same line isavailable at the RTTY/PKT jack for TNC control.Open-circuit voltage is +5 VDC, and closed-circuitcurrent is 2 mA.EXT ALC JackThis RCA input jack accepts negative-going exter-nal ALC (Automatic Level Control) voltage froma linear amplifier to prevent over-excitation by thetransceiver. Acceptable input voltage range is 0 to –4VDC.IF OUT JackThis RCA jack outputs the receiver 9 MHz IF signal.This signal does not pass through the roofing filter.TX GND JackThis RCA jack’s center pin is closed to ground whilethe transceiver’s transmitter is engaged. The transis-tor open collector circuit used for this jack is capableof switching a DC voltage of 60 V at 200 mA, or DC30 V at up to 1Amp.RX OUT JackThis RCA jack provides output of the receiver signallines from the Antenna jack.LINEAR JackThis 15-pin output jack provides band selection data,which may be used for control of optional accesso-ries such as the VL-1000 Solid-state Linear Ampli-fier.
