Radiator finsdamage easily.NOTICENEVER attempt to adjust the low or high idle speedlimit screw. This may impair the safety andperformance of the machine and shorten its life. Ifthe idle speed limit screws require adjustment, seeyour authorized Yanmar industrial engine dealer ordistributor.NOTICEThe tightening torque in the Standard TorqueChart in General Service Information should beapplied only to the bolts with a “7” head. (JISstrength classification: 7T)• Apply 60% torque to bolts that are notlisted.• Apply 80% torque when tightened toaluminum alloy.NOTICEEstablish a periodic maintenance plan according tothe engine application and make sure you performthe required periodic maintenance at intervalsindicated. Failure to follow these guidelines willimpair the engine’s safety and performancecharacteristics, shorten the engine’s life and mayaffect the warranty coverage on your engine. SeeYanmar Warranties section.Consult your authorized Yanmar dealer ordistributor for assistance when checking itemsmarked with a z.NOTICEIf the fuel filter / water separator is positionedhigher than the fuel level in the fuel tank, water maynot drip out when the fuel filter / water separatordrain cock is opened. If this happens, turn the airvent screw on the top of the fuel filter / waterseparator 2-3 turns counterclockwise.Be sure to tighten the air vent screw after the waterhas drained out.NOTICE• When the engine is operated in dusty conditions,clean the air cleaner element more frequently.• NEVER operate the engine with the air cleanerelement(s) removed. This may allow foreignmaterial to enter the engine and damage it.NOTICEThe maximum air intake restriction, in terms ofdifferential pressure measurement, must notexceed 0.90 psi (6.23 kPa; 635 mmAq). Clean orreplace the air cleaner element if the air intakerestriction exceeds the above mentioned value.
