Resetting the Power Foldaway MirrorsYou will need to reset the power foldaway mirrorsif the following occurs:• The mirrors are accidentally obstructed whilefolding.• They are accidentally manuallyfolded/unfolded.• The mirrors will not stay in the unfoldedposition.• The mirrors shake and flutter at normal drivingspeeds.To reset the power foldaway mirrors, fold andunfold them one time using the mirror controls.This will reset them to their normal position.The mirrors can be manually folded inward toprevent damage when going through an automaticcar wash or a confined space. To fold, push themirror toward the vehicle. To return the mirror to itsoriginal position, push outward. Be sure toreturn both mirrors to their original unfoldedposition before driving.The preferred position can be stored in memory ifthe vehicle has the memory option. See MemorySeat and Mirrors on page 12 for more information.When the rear window defogger is turned on, bothoutside rearview mirrors are heated to helpclear them of ice, snow, and condensation. See“Rear Window Defogger” under Dual ClimateControl System on page 189 for more information.Outside Automatic DimmingMirrorThe driver’s outside mirror may have an automaticdimming feature that helps to reduce glare fromother vehicles headlamps. This feature iscontrolled by the on and off settings on theautomatic dimming rearview mirror. See AutomaticDimming Rearview Mirror with OnStar® onpage 134.Outside Curb View Assist MirrorIf the vehicle has memory seat and mirrors, thedriver’s or passenger’s mirror can tilt to apreselected position when the vehicle is shiftedinto REVERSE (R). Use this feature to viewthe curb when parallel parking.When the vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE (R)and after a five-second delay, both mirrorsreturn to their original position.138
