Instrumentation and Controls. . . 202CONNECTING AN IPOD USINGTHE USB PORTIf your vehicle is equipped with aCD changer, see "Connecting aPortable Audio Device Using theAuxiliary Input Jack" earlier in thissection for information aboutconnecting an iPod to the soundsystem.Your vehicle is equipped with aUSB port and a special USB/auxilia-ry input jack cable that connectsan iPod or an iPod Nano to thesound system.A standard iPod USB cable cannotbe used.Connect the USB/auxiliary inputjack cable to the iPod. Then,connect the other end of the cableto the auxiliary input jack and theUSB port.If the engine is on and the iPod isproperly connected, the GM logowill appear on the iPod display.The radio automatically beginsplaying audio over the vehiclespeakers. Song information willappear on the iPod display.Note:For proper operation, the iPodmust have the latest firmwarefrom Apple®.
