Service and Maintenance. . . 414After a power loss, such asdisconnecting the battery orremoving the maxifuses in the fuseblock, the following steps must beperformed to calibrate theelectronic throttle control. If this isnot done, the engine will not runproperly.1. Turn the ignition on but donot start the engine.2. Leave the ignition on for atleast three minutes so that theelectronic throttle control willcycle and relearn its homeposition.3. Turn the ignition off.4. Start and run the engine for atleast 30 seconds.Vehicle StorageIf the vehicle is driven infrequently,disconnect the cable from thenegative ("-") terminal of thebattery to prevent discharge.If the vehicle is going to be storedfor an extended period of time,disconnect the cable from thenegative ("-") terminal of thebattery or use a battery tricklecharger to prevent discharge.Air Cleaner/FilterThe engine air cleaner/filterassembly is located on the left sideof the engine compartment nearthe front.A disposable air filter element iscontained in the air cleaner.Inspect and change the filter at theintervals recommended in yourMaintenance Schedule.AKENG40_CTS Page 414 Wednesday, July 23, 2008 11:47 AM
