Such tampering couldaffect the performance of thesystem.Your vehicle is equipped with aTheft Deterrent System.In addition to standard theftdeterrent system capabilities, thissystem also has a power sounder,intrusion sensor and inclinationsensor.If this theft deterrent system isarmed, the alarm will sound anytime a door, the trunk or the hoodis opened.The hazard lights will flash for upto 30 seconds.The alarm can also be triggered bya change in vehicle position (suchas if the vehicle is lifted), or by aninterruption of the vehicle’s powersupply.Also, the vehicle’s intrusion sensormonitors the vehicle interior andprovides an alarm signal to thetheft deterrent module in theevent of an unauthorized entryinto the vehicle’s interior.To arm the system:1. If any passengers or petswill remain in the vehicle,deactivate the intrusion sensorbefore arming the theftdeterrent system.See "Intrusion Sensor" laterin this section for moreinformation.2.
