503 . . .–––––Section 56. Remove the valve cap fromthe tire valve stem.Make sure the valve stem ispositioned close to the groundso the hose will reach the tire.7. Firmly attach the air inflatorhose to the tire valve stem.- Compressor kits equippedwith a selector switch:To tighten, turn the end ofthe hose clockwise.- Compressor kits notequipped with a selectorswitch:Push down on the lever tosecure the hose to the valvestem.8. Disconnect any accessoriesplugged into the accessorypower outlets.9. Plug the air compressor intothe one of the accessorypower outlets.- Note:Only use the cigarette lighteroutlet to plug in the aircompressor if the vehicleis not equipped with anaccessory power outlet.Do not close the doors orwindows on the power cord.10. Start the engine.The engine must be runningto avoid draining thebattery while running the aircompressor using batterypower.CAUTIONIdling the engine inside anenclosed area such as a garage,and/or with the climate controlsystem's fan off, may producedangerous exhaust fumes.11.
