BigIron RX Series Configuration Guide 44153-1001986-01Configuring a topology group 16If you remove a member VLAN or VLAN group from a topology group, you will need toreconfigure the Layer 2 protocol information in the VLAN or VLAN group.Configuring a topology groupTo configure a topology group, enter commands such as the following.BigIron RX(config)# topology-group 2BigIron RX(config-topo-group-2)# master-vlan 2BigIron RX(config-topo-group-2)# member-vlan 3BigIron RX(config-topo-group-2)# member-vlan 4BigIron RX(config-topo-group-2)# member-vlan 5BigIron RX(config-topo-group-2)# member-group 2The commands configure topology group 2 and add the following to it:• VLAN 2 as master VLAN• VLANs 3, 4, and 5 as member VLANs• Member VLAN group 2Syntax: [no] topology-group The command creates a topology group.The parameter assigns an ID 1 – 256 to thetopology group.Syntax: [no] master-vlan This command adds the master VLAN to the topology group. The VLAN must already be configured.Make sure all the Layer 2 protocol settings in the VLAN are correct for your configuration before youadd the VLAN to the topology group. A topology group can have only one master VLAN.Syntax: [no] member-vlan <vlan-id>This command adds a member VLAN to the topology group. The VLAN must already be configured.Syntax: [no] member-group This command adds a VLAN group to the topology group.
