Layer 2This chapter describes the Layer 2 features supported on the device.Manage the MAC Address TableYou can perform the following management tasks in the MAC address table.• Clearing the MAC Address Table• Setting the Aging Time for Dynamic Entries• Configuring a Static MAC Address• Displaying the MAC Address TableClearing the MAC Address TableYou may clear the MAC address table of dynamic entries.To clear a MAC address table, use the following command.• Clear a MAC address table of dynamic entries.EXEC Privilege modeclear mac-address-table {dynamic | sticky} {address | all | interface | vlan}• address: deletes the specified entry.• all: deletes all dynamic entries.• interface: deletes all entries for the specified interface.• vlan: deletes all entries for the specified VLAN.Setting the Aging Time for Dynamic EntriesLearned MAC addresses are entered in the table as dynamic entries, which means that they are subject to aging.For any dynamic entry, if no packet arrives on the switch with the MAC address as the source or destination address within the timerperiod, the address is removed from the table.
