CHAPTER 4: SETPOINTS CONTROL889 GENERATOR PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUAL 4–349Breaker ControlWhile the Local breaker control is generic as the same front panel pushbuttons are usedfor control of each selected breaker from the SLD, the remote breaker control requiresprogramming of setpoints for each individual breaker. When the relay is in Remote mode(Local Mode set to Off, or the assigned operand de-asserted), the setpoint “Remote BlockOpen” and “Remote Block Close” from the breaker menu can be used. These setpoints canbe used to provide Interlocking to the breaker control by assigning appropriate operands. The control for each breaker can be programmed to have Bypass Remote Block Open andBypass Remote Block Close inputs. These inputs can be programmed if temporarypermission for open or close is required. The remote breaker open and close controls, as well as the blocking and bypassing theblock commands are executed as per the programmed setpoints form the Breaker Controlmenu.FASTPATH:The breaker “Remote Block Open”, “Remote Block Close”, “Bypass Rem Blk Open” and“Bypass Rem Blk Close” flags are inhibited, when the setpoint Select Before Operateresiding under Local Control Mode menu is set to Disabled. The breaker remote open andclose commands are operational.Path: Setpoints > Control > Breaker Control > BKR1(X)REMOTE OPENRange: Off, Any FlexLogic operandDefault: OffThe setting specifies the input which, when asserted, initiates a Trip command to outputrelay #1 TRIP. When the selected input is asserted, the Trip contact is energized andstays energized until the input drops off, the breaker opens, and the selected Trip seal-intime expires. This setpoint provides the flexibility to operate the Trip output relay byselecting an operand from the list of FlexLogic operands, contact inputs, virtual inputs, orremote inputs. For example the operand “Trip Bus 1 Op” can be selected to activate thisoutput according to the Trip conditions configured under the Trip Bus 1 menu.REMOTE CLOSERange: Off, Any FlexLogic operandDefault: OffThe setting specifies the input which, when asserted, initiates a Close command to theoutput relay selected to close the breaker. This setpoint provides flexibility to operate theoutput relay by selecting an operand from the list of FlexLogic operands.REMOTE BLOCK OPENRange: Off, Any FlexLogic operandDefault: OffThe assertion of the operand assigned to this setpoint prevents the breaker fromopening/tripping.REMOTE BLOCK CLOSERange: Off, Any FlexLogic operandDefault: OffThe assertion of the operand assigned to this setpoint prevents the breaker from closing.BYPASS REM BLK OPENRange: Off, Any FlexLogic operandDefault: OffThis setting specifies selection of an input which when asserted bypasses the assertedremote block open signal. Open command is permitted for the breaker.
