2019 Malibu Boats, LLC Owner’s Manual • Page 118FENDER LOCKS: As an option, the fender lock is a stainlesssteel component added permanently to the boat deck, with an eyethat attaches an optional fender (sold by an authorized Malibu dealeror aftermarket supplier) to provide protection when a boat is docked.The fender eye slides into and out of the lock for ease of use. Theselocks help protect the finish of the boat.Fender locks are not designed to be used to tie up the boat.They are designed only to support bumpers.Models: (Optional) All Wakesetter models.Anchor LockerSome models are built withanchor lockers. Malibu doesnot sell anchors, preferring tohave consumers select from anauthorized Malibu dealer or anaftermarket supplier the anchorthat best meets individual needsbased on the type, location anddepth of the body of water.Anchor lockers should becleaned regularly to avoid thegrowth of mold and mildew,which can result in an un-pleasant odor and potentiallyunhealthy situation.Models: Wakesetter22MXZ, Wakesetter 24MXZ, M235.HornAll boats are equipped with a horn.The purpose of the horn is to sound analarm in the event of an emergency, andalso to draw attention as you maneuverthe boat in areas where line of sightis questionable or in instances whenattention seems warranted. The horn isactivated by a button on the dash.Models: All models.MirrorEven when accompanied by an on-board observer to assist inkeeping track of passengers, skiers, boarders and others engagedin activities, operators would be well-advised to use a mirror as partof constant alertness to the surroundings. All boats can be equippedwith a windshield-mounted and adjustable mirror, unless equippedwith the optional PTMEdge VR140 rear view mirror. It mounts tothe G3.5 tower and hashigh-definition, prescrip-tion-grade optics. It fea-tures a 140-degree field ofview that is enclosed withan aluminum billet housing.Models: Mirrors are anoption for all models.LadderAs an option, laddersare available for some bows(depending on the model) andthe swim board for ease andincreased safety in boardingand disembarking the boat.The ladders are foldable,with a sliding latch that locksthe ladder in place when it isfully extended for use, and alsofor when it is folded up and putaway. On the bow, the ladderfolds upward and fits inside theanchor locker. The aft ladderfolds up and under the swimboard for stowing. The laddersshould always be stowed when the boat is underway. Excessiveforce from the body of water as the boat is in motion can damage theladder, and such damage is not covered under warranty.Failure to properly stow theladder prior to getting un-derway can result in damageto the ladder, and potentiallyto the boat, which would not be covered under warranty.Models: Bow ladders are standard on the 22MXZ, 24MXZ andM235 models. Swim board ladders are available on some models.Fuel FillMalibu boats are equipped with fuel fill fittings and vents to pro-vide state-of-the-art safety protection in the process of adding fuel tothe tank. While most of the fuel system on the boat is inaccessible toowners/operators, the fuel fill was designed to ensure the process offueling is as safe as possible, and efficient.Fuel fills are located on each side of the boat toward the aft onthe boats.
