2019 Malibu Boats, LLC Owner’s Manual • Page 139Avoid running the boat’sengine if at all possiblewhile anyone is on the swimplatform or sun pad. Exhaustfumes are emitted from beneath the swim platform andthe odorless, colorless carbon monoxide can sicken orkill before individuals are aware there is danger. If waterfor the shower needs to be heated, run the boat engine asbriefly as possible, and shower quickly. NEVER showerfor lengthy periods of time as one might on-shore. Moveaway from the swim platform and/or sun pad as soon asthe shower is turned off and stowed, to allow time for thefumes to dissipate.Even if people are not on thesun pad or swim platform toavoid CO fumes, do not leavethe shower running. Turn off as soon as possible. Leav-ing the shower running can result in damage to the pump, which is not covered under warranty. Excess water in thebilge system as a result could also swamp the boat, resultingin sinking, which could endanger the lives of all on-board.Models: (Optional) Available as an option on all models.Flush KitPrior to usingthe flush kit, cleanwater must be addedfrom on-shore. Runa garden-type hosefrom the clean-watersource to inlet onthe port side of thedeck, outside theengine well storagecompartment. Attach securely, but do not over-tighten. Fill the tank, then remove the hose and replace the fill cap on the inlet. The control panel for the flush kit is located in the starboard en-gine well storage compartment. Attach the wand nozzle to the controlpanel. Turn ON/OFF via the toggle switch. Water ejects only whenthe handle grip is squeezed. Do not squeeze until you have aimedthe wand.If all the water in the holding tank is used IMMEDIATELY releasethe handle and turn OFF the toggle switch. Damage can occur to theflush kit system if the pump runs without water moving through thesystem. Remove and store the wand/nozzle until used again. The flush kit switch shouldALWAYS be in the OFFposition when there is nowater in the tank. Allowingthe pump to run without water can result in damage tothe system, which is not covered under warranty.Swim Board and LaddersThe swim board provides additional enjoyment of the Mali-bu experience. While the swim platform, along with the optionalunder-swim platform ladder and bow ladder, can ease movement inand out of the water, Malibu reminds users to exercise caution. Whenjumping off the boat, always be absolutely certain that there is suffi-cient depth. Appearances can be deceptive, especially in clear water. When using the ladders, use the steps with care to avoid slipping orfalling. Although the swim board is constructed with anti-skid proper-ties, it is still the responsibility of users to use care when walking onit, using it to get on, using it to get into the cockpit, standing or sittingon the swim board. As noted multiple times throughout this Owner’s Manual, neverallow anyone to be on the swim board or ladders when the engine isrunning due to exhaust fumes.Never allow anyone to be onthe swim board or ladderswhen the engine is running, even at idle. Exhaust fumescan quickly overcome individuals, leading to serious in-jury or death.
