However, this is usuallynot a factor.The main reason for attempted call mismatches are:• The outgoing side records every SETUP message sent to it by the PBX.The incoming side records SETUP messages sent to the PBX by theITG card. Every call that is cleared quickly or blocked by fallback skewsthe results.IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) upgradesSeveral different types of upgrades can be required for the IP Trunk 3.01(and later); for example, a software upgrade for bug fix and/or the additionof new features. All upgrades are accomplished by updating the on-boardapplication flash memory with the application. Software upgrades areperformed from the TM 3.1 PC.Nortel recommends loading the application from the network, rather thanthe faceplate PC Card.Application upgradeOn occasion, a field up-issue is done over the network. In this instance,the customer is provided with a customer-specific binary file containing anew software load. The binary file includes both the base code and theapplication code.Maintenance or bug fix upgradeThe user installs the new software from the network.Patching toolA patch is a piece of code that is inserted or patched into an executableprogram. The patching tool enables loadware on the Media Card 32-portand ITG-Pentium 24-port trunk cards to be patched or fixed without havingto upgrade the IP trunk card loadware and without service interruption.All patch commands on the Media Card 32-port and ITG-Pentium 24-porttrunk cards are accessible at the ITG> shell prompt. These commands aresummarized in Table 67 "Patch commands" (page 411).The parameter string supplied to the command must be enclosed withdouble quotes. For example, the syntax for the pload command is pload"patch1.p".These commands are used to manage patches on the Media Card 32-portand ITG-Pentium 24-port trunk cards.
