156 SAFETYGeneral InformationThe following regulatory statement applies to allRadio Frequency (RF) devices equipped in thisvehicle:This device complies with Part 15 of the FCCRules and with Innovation, Science andEconomic Development Canada license-exemptRSS standard(s). Operation is subject to thefollowing two conditions:1. This device may not cause harmfulinterference, and2. This device must accept any interferencereceived, including interference that maycause undesired operation. La operación de este equipo está sujeta a lassiguientes dos condiciones:1. es posible que este equipo o dispositivo nocause interferencia perjudicial y2. este equipo o dispositivo debe aceptarcualquier interferencia, incluyendo la quepueda causar su operación no deseada.NOTE:Changes or modifications not expresslyapproved by the party responsible for compli-ance could void the user’s authority to operatethe equipment.Forward Collision Warning (FCW) WithMitigation — If EquippedThe Forward Collision Warning (FCW) withMitigation system provides the driver withaudible warnings, visual warnings (within theinstrument cluster display), and may apply abrake jerk to warn the driver when it detects apotential frontal collision. The warnings andlimited braking are intended to provide thedriver with enough time to react, avoid ormitigate the potential collision.NOTE:FCW monitors the information from the forwardlooking sensors as well as the Electronic BrakeController (EBC), to calculate the probability of aforward collision. When the system determinesthat a forward collision is probable, the driverwill be provided with audible and visual warn-ings as well as a possible brake jerk warning. If the driver does not take action based uponthese progressive warnings, then the systemwill provide a limited level of active braking tohelp slow the vehicle and mitigate the potentialforward collision. If the driver reacts to the warn-ings by braking and the system determines thatthe driver intends to avoid the collision bybraking but has not applied sufficient brakeforce, the system will compensate and provideadditional brake force as required. If a FCW with Mitigation event begins at a speedbelow 32 mph (52 km/h), the system mayprovide the maximum braking possible to miti-gate the potential forward collision. If theForward Collision Warning with Mitigation eventstops the vehicle completely, the system willhold the vehicle at standstill for two secondsand then release the brakes.
