GETTING TO KNOW YOUR VEHICLE 19(Continued)IGNITION SWITCHKeyless Push Button IgnitionThis feature allows the driver to operate theignition switch with the push of a button as longas the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) key fob is inthe passenger compartment.The Keyless Push Button Ignition has fouroperating positions; three of which are labeledand will illuminate when in position. The threepositions are OFF, ACC, and ON/RUN. Thefourth position is START; during START, RUN willilluminate.NOTE:In case the ignition switch does not change withthe push of a button, the key fob may have a lowor depleted battery. In this situation, a back upmethod can be used to operate the ignitionswitch. Put the nose side (side opposite of theemergency key) of the key fob against theSTART/STOP ignition button, with your footapplied on the brake pedal, and push to operatethe ignition switch.Keyless Push Button IgnitionThe push button ignition can be placed in thefollowing modes:OFF The engine is stopped. Some electrical devices (e.g. Central locking,alarm, etc.) are still available.ACC Engine is not started. Some electrical devices are available.RUN Driving position. All the electrical devices are available.START The engine will start.1 — OFF2 — ACC (Accessory)3 — ON/RUNWARNING! When exiting the vehicle, always removethe key fob from the vehicle and lock yourvehicle. Never leave children alone in a vehicle, orwith access to an unlocked vehicle. Allowing children to be in a vehicle unat-tended is dangerous for a number ofreasons. A child or others could be seriouslyor fatally injured. Children should bewarned not to touch the parking brake,brake pedal or the gear selector.2
