If using a towdolly, follow this procedure:NOTE:If vehicle is equipped with air suspension,ensure the vehicle is set to Normal Ride Height.1. Properly secure the dolly to the tow vehicle,following the dolly manufacturer'sinstructions.2. Drive the rear wheels onto the tow dolly.3. Apply the parking brake. Place thetransmission in PARK.4. Properly secure the rear wheels to the dolly,following the dolly manufacturer'sinstructions.5. Turn the ignition OFF.6. Install a suitable clamping device, designedfor towing, to secure the front wheels in thestraight position.Recreational Towing — Four-Wheel DriveModelsNOTE:The transfer case must be shifted into NEUTRAL(N) for recreational towing. The transmissionmust be shifted into PARK for recreationaltowing. Refer to the following for the propertransfer case NEUTRAL (N) shifting procedurefor your vehicle.CAUTION!Towing with the rear wheels on the ground willcause severe transmission damage. Damagefrom improper towing is not covered underthe New Vehicle Limited Warranty.CAUTION! DO NOT dolly tow any 4WD vehicle. Towingwith only one set of wheels on the ground(front or rear) will cause severe transmis-sion and/or transfer case damage. Towwith all four wheels either ON the ground, orOFF the ground (using a vehicle trailer). Tow only in the forward direction. Towingthis vehicle backwards can cause severedamage to the transfer case. Before recreational towing, the transfercase must be in NEUTRAL. To be certain thetransfer case is fully in NEUTRAL, performthe procedure outlined under “Shifting IntoNEUTRAL”. Internal transmission damagewill result, if the transfer case is not inNEUTRAL during towing. The transmission must be in PARK forrecreational towing. Ensure that the Electric Park Brake isreleased, and remains released, whilebeing towed.
