Scanner Features151Problem Solving15Scanner FeaturesNotes and RestrictionsThe following are the notes and restrictions for using the scanner features.Refer to the Readme contained in the CentreWare Utilities CD-ROM for the notes and restrictions onNetwork Scan Driver and Mailbox Viewer2.Retrieving Documents from Mailboxz When [Delete/Save Documents] is set to [Save], the same document can beaccessed by multiple clients.z When [Delete/Save Documents] is set to [Delete], only one client can access anygiven document. The document which is being saved or imported by a client cannotbe seen by other clients.In both cases, documents can be added to a mailbox while it is accessed.z When documents are retrieved from CentreWare Internet Services, the documentswill not be deleted regardless of the setting of [Delete Documents After Retrieval].Using Network Scan Driver and Mailbox Viewer2 SimultaneouslyYou cannot use both the network scan driver and Mailbox Viewer2 on a singlecomputer to make a connection to the machine.A maximum of three computers using either the Network Scan Driver or MailboxViewer2 may retrieve documents simultaneously from one machine.Private Polling from Another Fax MachineWhen another fax machine is instructing private polling, the machine cannot send ascanned document.Using TIFF FilesThe TIFF files created by either CentreWare Scan Service, or Mailbox Viewer2 arecompressed either into the MMR, MH, JBIG, or JPEG format. When opening the TIFFfiles, use the appropriate application software which supports the format.Note • Mailbox Viewer2 cannot create a TIFF file compressed into JBIG format.Restriction on Scanning CapacityThe maximum scanning capacity for one page is 297 x 432 mm. For standard sizes,A3 or 11 x 17 inches.Number of Sheets for Scanning (for Mailbox)A maximum of 999 pages can be scanned in at once for mailboxes. The number ofpages may differ depending on the document size and resolution.
