C.5 Drive Operations by MEMOBUS/ModbusYASKAWA ELECTRIC SIEP C710616 27G YASKAWA AC Drive A1000 Technical Manual 553MEMOBUS/ModbusCommunicationsCC.5 Drive Operations by MEMOBUS/ModbusThe drive operations that can be performed by MEMOBUS/Modbus communication depend on drive parameter settings. This section explains the functions that can be used and related parameter settings. Observing the Drive OperationA PLC can perform the following actions with MEMOBUS/Modbus communications at any time regardless ofparameter settings (except H5-).• Observe drive status and drive control terminal status from a PLC.• Read and write parameters.• Set and reset faults.• Set multi-function inputs. Inputs settings from the input terminals (S1 to S8) and from MEMOBUS/Modbuscommunications are both linked by an OR operation. Controlling the DriveTo start and stop the drive or set the frequency reference using MEMOBUS/Modbus communications, an externalreference must be selected and the parameters listed in Table C.2 must be adjusted accordingly.Table C.2 Setting Parameters for Drive Control from MEMOBUS/ModbusRefer to b1-01: Frequency Reference Selection 1 on page 148 and b1-02: Run Command Selection 1 on page 150 fordetails on external reference parameter selections. Refer to Setting 2: External reference 1/2 selection on page 237 forinstructions on how to select external reference 1 and 2.Reference Source Parameter Name Required SettingExternal Reference 1 b1-01 Frequency Reference Selection 1 2b1-02 Run Command Selection 1 2External Reference 2 b1-15 Frequency Reference Selection 2 2b1-16 Run Command Selection 2 2
