To activate this feature, press thebutton before calls come in to your telephone. When the feature isenabled, the indicator is lit. When you receive an internal call, yourtelephone sounds a tone and activates the speaker phone.An external call (a call from outside your NBX system) rings to yourtelephone as usual.18 Headset connector — Located on the underside of the telephone, thisRJ-11 connector enables you to plug in a headset so that you can listen tocalls and have your hands free. See “Using a Headset” in Chapter 6.To enable the use of a connected headset, press the Headset button (bydefault, button 16 at the top of the right column of buttons).19 Volume down — Lowers the volume of the ringer, the speaker, thehandset, or the headset. See “Setting the Volume” in Chapter 5.20 Mute button — Enables you to prevent callers from hearing what youare saying during a telephone call, although you can still hear them. Pressthe button to turn off the telephone’s microphone when you areusing the handset or headset, or when your telephone is in speakerphone mode.
