The interlocking functionality in eachIED is not dependent on any central function. For the station-wide interlocking, theIEDs communicate via the station bus or by using hard wired binary inputs/outputs.The interlocking conditions depend on the circuit configuration and status of thesystem at any given time.8.2.2 Operation principle M13528-4 v7The interlocking function consists of software modules located in each controlIED. The function is distributed and not dependent on any central function.Communication between modules in different bays is performed via the stationbus. The reservation function (see section "Functionality") is used to ensure that HVapparatuses that might affect the interlock are blocked during the time gap, whicharises between position updates. This can be done by means of the communicationsystem, reserving all HV apparatuses that might influence the interlockingcondition of the intended operation. The reservation is maintained until theoperation is performed. After the selection and reservation of an apparatus, the function has complete dataon the status of all apparatuses in the switchyard that are affected by the selection.1MRK 511 424-UEN B Section 8ControlBay control REC650 2.2 IEC 149Technical manual
