2-18 Setting Up Chapter 2Loading Paper in the Multi-Purpose TrayFollow this procedure to load paper in the multi-purpose tray:1 Make sure the paper thickness lever isset to p (left).• For details, 1 p. 5-6.c Do not set the paper thickness leverwhile the unit is printing since thiswill cause problems.2 Raise the paper rest until it stops q,then move the paper guide to the left tomatch the size of your paper w.3 Prepare a stack of paper by fanningthe edge that will feed into the unit first,and then by tapping the stack on a flatsurface to even its edges.4 Insert the stack into the multi-purposetray q, and align the right edge of thestack with the right side of the multi-purpose tray. Slide the paper guidesnugly against the left edge of the stackw.• The multi-purpose tray holds up to 100sheets of 75 g/m2 plain paper.• Make sure the stack does not exceed thepaper limit mark (P).The unit is now ready to print.
