4 Operation4.3 Extended functionality96 DS7 Soft starter 09/16 MN03901001Z-EN www.eaton.com4.3 Extended functionalityThis extended functionality is only available on DS7-340… and DS7-342…models.Scope of extended functionality• Relay 23 can be reprogrammed from RUN to READY.• An input-side check of the phase sequence can be enabled.Setting the potentiometersTo activate the extended functionality, set the potentiometers as follows:• t-Start: Max: 30 s• U-Start: Max: 100 %• t-Stop: About 65 % (do not select the maximum or the minimum value)If the potentiometers are set to settings other than the ones shown above,the DS7 soft starter will keep its configuration, i.e., the relay function andphase sequence detection function will keep behaving the same way as thelast time before the device was switched off.ConfigureWhen the control section’s power supply is activated, there will be a two-second configuration period, provided that the potentiometers have been setto the correct settings. During this configuration period, the green LED andthe red LED will show a solid light. If no adjustments are made during thesetwo seconds, the DS7 soft starter will keep its previous configuration.Changing the relay functionality from RUN to READY and vice versa▶ Change the value for t-Start from Max to Min and then back from Min toMax within the configuration period (2 seconds).• After this, the green LED will flash for 1 second with a frequency of8 Hz if the RUN functionality has been activated (default).• On the other hand, the red LED will flash for 1 second with afrequency of 8 Hz if the READY functionality has been activatedinstead (Extended).Enabling/disabling the phase sequence check▶ Change the value for U-Start from Max to Min and then back from Minto Max within the configuration period (2 seconds).• After this, the green LED will flash for 1 second with a frequency of8 Hz if the phase sequence error detection function has beendisabled (default).• On the other hand, the red LED will flash for 1 second with afrequency of 8 Hz if the phase sequence error detection functionhas been enabled instead (Extended).
