3 - DIRECT-TO61Flight Plan / Nearest WaypointsSelecting a Destination from the Active FlightPlanIf you’re navigating an active flight plan, anywaypoint contained in the flight plan may be selectedas a direct-to destination from the Select Direct-toWaypoint page (see Section 4, for more information onflight plans).The flight plan (FPL) field allows you toselect any active flight plan waypoint as yourcurrent destination waypoint.To select a direct-to destination from the activeflight plan:1. Press the direct-to key. The Select Direct-toWaypoint Page appears, with the waypointidentifier field highlighted.2. Turn the large right knob to highlight theflight plan (FPL) field.3. Turn the small right knob to display a windowshowing all waypoints in the active flightplan.4. Continue turning the small right knob toscroll through the list and highlight the desiredwaypoint.5. Press ENT to confirm the selected waypoint andENT (again) to activate the direct-to function.NOTE: Performing a Direct-To to the MAP of an activeapproach will cancel approach mode.Selecting the Nearest Airport as a Direct-To Desti-nationThe Select Direct-to Waypoint Page always displaysthe nearest airports (from your present position) onthe NRST field. Navigating directly to a nearby airportis always just a few simple steps away (nearby airportsmay also be selected as direct-to destinations using thesteps described in Sec 7 NRST Pages - Navigating to aNearby Waypoint).The nearest airport (NRST) field allows youto select any of the 25 nearest airports asyour current destination waypoint.To select a nearby airport as a direct-to destina-tion:1. Press the direct-to key. The select direct-towaypoint page appears, with the waypointidentifier field highlighted.2. Turn the large right knob to highlight thenearest airport (NRST) field.3. Turn the small right knob to display a windowshowing up to nine nearby airports.4. Continue turning the small right knob toscroll through the list and highlight the desiredairport.5. Press ENT to confirm the selected waypointand ENT (again) to activate the direct-to func-tion.
